Ippei Nakayama, nicknamed "Chabo" for his energetic and spirited personality, is a local reporter who moves from his quiet hometown of Matsuyama to the bustling metropolis of Tokyo. He joins the police reporting unit of a major news agency, bringing a fresh and unorthodox perspective to the city's cynical journalism scene. While typical city reporters focus on getting the fastest "scoop" and cold facts, Chabo is a man of deep empathy. He often finds himself getting too involved in the lives of the suspects and victims he covers, looking for the human truth behind every incident. The series beautifully balances comedic moments with the harsh realities of crime reporting, showcasing Chabo's growth as he struggles to maintain his integrity and warmth in the face of big-city challenges.
