After completing his postgraduate studies, he joined China’s top rocket research center—Aerospace Academy No. 1—where he became part of the team behind China’s most powerful launch vehicle, the Long March 5 (CZ-5), also known as “Fat Five.” Together with his mentors and colleagues, Pan faced countless technical challenges, setbacks, and public doubt. Even after a failed launch, they refused to give up. Through perseverance and innovation, the team finally achieved a successful mission—marking a major step in China’s transformation from a space-faring nation to a true space power. This inspiring drama showcases the determination, teamwork, and national pride behind one of China’s greatest aerospace achievements.
