Biografie

Zakes Makgona Mokae (5. August 1934 – 11. September 2009) war ein südafrikanischer Bühnen- und Filmschauspieler. Für seine Rolle in Athol Fugards Theaterstück „Master Harold… and the Boys“ gewann Mokae 1982 den Tony Award als Bester Nebendarsteller in einem Theaterstück. Zu seinen bekanntesten Filmen zählen „Cry Freedom“ (1987), „A Dry White Season“ (1989), „Die Insel“ (1980), „Vampire in Brooklyn“ (1995), „Outbreak“ (1995) und „Waterworld“ (1995). Er hatte außerdem unvergessliche Gastauftritte in Fernsehserien wie „Akte X“, „The West Wing“ und „Monk“.
