Yola d'Avril wuchs in Paris auf. 1923 zog sie nach Kanada und wurde Tänzerin. Anschließend ging sie nach Hollywood und erhielt ab 1925 kleinere Rollen; insgesamt wirkte sie in über siebzig Filmen mit.
